About Wood-Network
Owner, Jon Pohlman
|
|
Wood-Network is an idea brought about by the founder of WoodByMail.com. After 9 years of developing the woodworkers supply & deckbuilders supply site, Jon Pohlman decided it was time to give all the woodworkers they had been selling products to over the years, a place to show off the work they have done. So Jon set out to build wood-network.
Jon Pohlman has a long history of woodworking. As a young child his father tough him the basics of woodworking, building shelves and tables at the age of 10. At 12 he and his Friend decided to start a Mobile DJ business so the built the mobile case to carry and house the equipment. From there he took on his first woodworking client at 18 years old. Jon was hired to build a video editing suite for a member of the Niagara University Staff. A solid Oak eqiupment rack and a 2 tier 12' long editing desk.
After finishing college and while woking a bit in radio Jon decided he wanted to build Custom Home Theaters. So he saw a job for a local cabinet company and went to work helping them set up the factory. The Kitchen Cabinets they were building was not as exciting as Home Theaters so Jon moved on to the Wood Shop of a Local Audio Video Store.
After a year Jon was the shop manager and what started out as a small shop with 5 guys quickly grew to a huge 25,000 sq ft facility with 27 employees working 2 shifts building retail store fixtures and Custom Home Theaters.
After 7 years running this shop and owning and closing a clothing store, Jon got an offer to sell Hardwood and Hardwood Plywood wholesale. While at the distribution company selling lumber to builders and cabinet makers all over the state of NY, Jon started Woodbymail.com, A website that sold thin lumber and thin plywood to scroll sawers.
After taking Woodbymail on his own he also started Big Dawg Communications, where his Company performs website design, hosting and search optimization services. So you can see that wood-network is the perfect blend of all of the above, wood, web marketing and woodworkers.
